Just Jacy

Image
Everyday I think to myself, "I don't want Jacy to grow up anymore-how can it get any better than this moment right now?" Then tomorrow comes and I realize that it just gets better and better each day!!! What a joy she is in our lives! It is amazing to see how fast she is growing and developing. Her personality is so incredible. She just lights up the room! Her vocabulary has just exploded! Her simple words have turned into 3 and 4 word sentences! Some of her new favorite words include, snack, treat, hotgog (hotdog), imming (swimming), eeping (sleeping), kitchen, spilled, towel, fries, cooking, kitchen, crying, affle (Waffle), egg, ice cream, cough, and the winner...otter pop! She is putting together sentences like "I want more fries", "What happened?", "Where you going?", "You coming?", "Who's that?", and my favorite, "Uv (love) you mommy/daddy!" That one melts me every time! She is very polite and uses "...

Memorial Day Weekend 2007

Image
What a busy weekend we had! Daddy had to work, but Jacy and I were headed out of town again! On Friday night we headed for St. John's to watch my youngest sister, Janell, graduate from high school! She did a great job putting together the class video presentation that was shown during the ceremony! The next day we headed to Show Low for a fun filled afternoon of bubbles in the front yard with Grandpa Zeke, or "Papa Eke" as Jacy refers to him. Saturday was also my brother Jonathan's birthday, so we surprised him for dinner at Grumpy Jake's in Pinetop. It was fun to celebrate his birthday with family and friends. Jacy and I stayed the night with Grandma Greta and Pardner at their Shores cabin in Pinteop. It was great to be able to spend time with them. Jacy made her Great Grandma play on the stairs with her most of the time! On Sunday we headed back home to see Daddy, but our night did not go as well as we had hoped. By 5:00pm Jacy had a fever that spiked to 103.5 ...

Mother's Day 2007

Image
This Mother's Day Jacy and I had a special Mother-Daughter get away. We had an overnight trip to Salt Lake City, Utah to visit my sister, Jennifer, who is serving her mission on Temple Square. We wanted our tour from the best, so we had to hurry because she comes home next month! It was so great to get to see her again. Jacy was only 9 months old the last time she saw Jennifer, but it didn't take her long to warm up. She was calling her "Auntie Sissy" in no time at all! We were able to just stroll around the Square on Friday and on Saturday we were able to join one of Jennifer's tours, attend an organ recital in the Tabernacle, watch the Joseph Smith movie, and even have dinner with a friend of ours, Chris Holgreen. He was a missionary that served here in Arizona, and went home to Utah in January. Jacy and I had a great time together! We missed Jay, but he had a special trip of his own. He went to Spokane, Washington to visit his family and watch his sister Gradua...

IT'S A....

We will be welcoming a new baby BOY into the Simmer family and we are thrilled about it! Jay wasn't able to come to the ultra sound appointment with me. Jacy got to deliver the special news to her Daddy by handing him this balloon when we got home! We had an ultra sound this past Tuesday and we are excited to report that so far he looks very healthy! There are no signs of Spina Bifida! All the testing and ultra sounds so far indicate that he is a healthy baby! He is very active! I can feel him move every once in a while, but during our ultra sounds he is always moving all over the place! Once he even brought up his little hand like he was waving to me! The picture here is his little foot...what a CUTIE!!! To see a video of Jay's reaction to the news, click on the link below: www.members.cox.net/jsimmer1/tellingdaddy.wmv

Christopher Creek Cabin 2007

Image
This year's work weekend/Birthday Bash at the Christopher Creek cabin was held during the 1st weekend in May. The whole Campbell Clan gets together (This year we missed Charlotte, Emily, and Jeremy) and teams up with the other cabin owners to work for the cabin association to help clean up the common areas. Jacy got to help out this year. She carried small sticks around and always looked very busy! It was also her first quad ride with her Grandma Debby! She loved it! After the work is done, the fun begins! This weekend is also our family's time to celebrate everyone's birthday for the whole year! This year Grandma Greta tricked us by making us think that she did't bring a birthday cake-you got us good Grandma! Jacy had a great time with her cousins, Connor, Rylee, and Tatum. Rylee is a great reader and Jacy loves books too. They sat on the bed and read for hours together! Jacy also had a fun time swinging on the tree swing. It was a little chilly (even a few snow flakes...

Mommy's first time away

Image
I had my first night (4 actually) away from Jacy.. EVER!!! I had the opportunity to attend a conference for work in ORLANDO, FLORIDA with my friend and co-worker Mary Warner. I missed my little princess a lot, but had a great time too! Granda Zeke (Papa Eke, as Jacy now refers to him) came to stay with Jacy during the day while Jay had to go to work. Between her Daddy and Grandpa I knew that Jacy was in good hands! Her and Grandpa had a blast together! I would talk to Jacy every night on the phone. Her side of the conversation was usually something like, "HI MOMMY! I'm funny! K-BYE!" and she would pass the phone back to Daddy. I got the feeling that she was having to much fun with the boys to be talking on the phone or missing her mommy! The first night of our trip Mary and I stayed the night with her Aunt and Uncle, just outside of Orlando. He took us for a ride in his '32 3-window coupe! It is BEAUTIFUL! We never got the chance to go to the Magic Kindom but we did v...

Easter 2007

Image
As usual, we had a great Easter weekend camping near Roosevelt Lake. We went camping with Grandpa John and Grandma Linda and the rest of the Richardson gang (We misssed you Jennifer and unfortunately the picture was taken after Justin's family had already left)! We always have a lot of fun when we get together with the Seagle and Baker family's! Although this was Jacy's 3rd Easter, it was the first one that she really participated in. She had a great time on the Easter Egg hunt with her cousins. She didn't totally get the concept... instead of putting new eggs in her basket, she would find an egg and then take out all the eggs from her basket to put them next to the new egg that she had found on the ground! Either way, she still had a great time! The Easter Bunny brought Jacy a basket filled with books, chocolate easter eggs, and animated DVD's with scripture stories!!! She also got a basket from Grandpa and Grandma that was filled with candy, toys, puzzles, and a...

Funny Chat with Jacy

It is pretty obvious that Jacy is a Daddy's girl, but our conversation on the drive home from Easter weekend at the lake really made it crystal clear. Jacy wanted her pigtails out and Daddy couldn't get them out. Here is how the conversation went: Jacy: Tails OUT! Daddy: I can't get them out. Mommy put them in too tight? Jacy: WHY? Mommy: Because you always pull them out. Jacy: WHY? Mommy: Because you are a crazy 2 year old. Jacy: WHY? Mommy: Because you are onry to your Mommy? Jacy: WHY? Mommy: Because you love your Daddy more. Jacy: YEP! She didn't skip a beat! I still love her though! =)
