This past weekend Jacy really wanted to go see some small animals at the Riparian. It got pretty hot and we didn't want to be out long so we compromised and went to the feed store to LOOK at the new baby chickens. A new shipment arrives every Friday. They are SO CUTE when they are little!!! So cute, in fact, that we ended up bringing SIX of them home with us! I guess two turkey's just wasn't enough for us. The bigger brown ones are Jay's. They are named LUNCH and DINNER. The two yellow ones are Jacy's. She named them both KINSEY so I refer to them as the Kinsey Twins. Me and Jake share the tiny brown ones. They are named JETSY and AVIATOR. They are fun to watch and soon maybe we will have our own eggs! If you live in our neighborhood.. PLEASE don't tell the HOA on us!

I AM AN ASU GRADUATE!!! It has been a long road and a lot of all nighters doing homework, but on May 13th, 2009 I received my Bachelor of Applied Science in Aviation Management Technology, Graduating Summa Cum Laude with a GPA of 3.87! On Saturday May 16th, 2009 I attended the Convocation Ceremony for the College of Technology and Innovation that was held at the Grady Gammage Auditorium in Tempe. It was AWESOME!!! The most special part of the event for me was when my Grandfather, Rudy Campbell (who has served on the Board of Reagents), was able to be a part of the platform party and present me with my diploma as I walked across the stage. What an honor it was to have him be a part of it! I have so many wonderful family and friends who have supported me along the way! Thank you for encouraging me, supporting me, proof reading for me, and pushing me to keep going! THANK YOU EVERYONE! A special thanks to my In-Laws, Jerry and Sally, and my very dear friends Brandy, Carla, Jojo, and Jayden...

The kids were needing something fun to do today, so I laid some packing paper across the table and put a plate full of finger paint in front of them! They went to town! At first it remained on the paper, but then Jake started to paint himself and decided to wear the finger paint plate as a hat! It was everywhere! Jacy REALLY liked the idea of the literal SELF portrait, so she went for it! The kids had a great time..and then went straight to the tub!

I was a very lucky girl this weekend! It happened that the whole weekend was MINE... It was my birthday on Saturday (I turned 27 again...and again...and...) and then Mother's Day today! What a treat! Jay had told Jacy on Friday night that my birthday was the next day... so Saturday morning I woke up to her sweet little face right in mine saying "Is today your birthday?"-just to clarify and then jumping up and down yelling, "Yeah... it's your birthday!" That pretty much made my day right there and I didn't mind turning a year older with her being so excited about it. =) Thanks to my mom and Zeke who watched the kids, Jay and I got to go out and enjoy a wonderful dinner together! When we got home from dinner they had a cake waiting for me! What a good day! My favorite part of Mother's Day was the card that Jacy made me at pre-school, along with a beautiful flower pot that she made. She cracks me up sometimes! She was asked questions about me, and here ...

Well... it didn't take long for Jake's 2nd broken bone! This morning he was sitting at the table eating breakfast with his Grandpa Jerry. He was sitting on his knees and doing fine, but then decided to stand up. As he stood up on his toes the chair feel backwards and he feet got caught in the space between the seat and the back of the chair. The back of the chair seat came down right on top of both of his feet. The bone on the top of his left foot got cracked. At first we thought that it was just a little sore, but quickly noticed that he couldn't put any pressure on it at all. He would just sit, stand, or lay where ever he was and hold his left foot in the air. After Urgent Care X-Rays he was put into a 1/2 cast splint. It was the hard splint that formed to his foot and leg and then secured with an ace bandage. For the rest of the day he only crawled around lugging that heavy thing behind him. He is quiet, quick, and very brave.. he loves to climb and run and jump... I am ...

I am not sure why I have never noticed this in years past, but as I pulled into my driveway I enjoyed the scenery of my front yard desert landscape in full bloom!
