Big Girl Bed!

Image
Jacy has moved on to her BIG GIRL BED!!! She helped her daddy convert her crib into a toddler day bed a few days ago. She took a few minutes to play on it and get used to it. She seem pretty excited! Her first night was a little rough. She woke up about 3 times and we caught her wandering around our living room looking for us, with her favorite puppy under one arm and her pink blankie in the other. She takes naps in it great! I walk her to her room, she climbs in and lays down, we blow kisses to each other, She says "nite-nite mommy" and then falls fast asleep! Last night she slept in her bed all night long without waking up!!! It was fun to wake up this morning with her little face right there looking at us with a big smile!

Our Little Climber

Image
Jacy has become quite the climber! She has mastered getting on the couch and kitchen chairs. In fact, we can't seem to keep her off of the furniture! The other day I caught her sitting on top of the end table, which she knows she is not allowed on. I told her that if she didn't climb down I was going to spank her. She got spanked. After she had calmed down a little bit she turned to me and said, "I want Daddy spank you, Mommy!" I couldn't help but to laugh...and then we were friends again. =)

Daddy the Apprentice

Image
Jay has just completed his 1st year of the Lineman Apprenticeship with SRP. He has now progressed to a step 3! He started a new crew on July 2nd and has already put in some long hours with them. He is currently on a reactive crew and with the monsoon season starting they certainly have their work cut out for them with outages and storm damage. Last week he reported to work at 12noon on Thursday and didn't get off work until 8:00am on Friday morning! We are so thankful, greatful, and proud of all his hard work. This picture is from his last climbing class. He really likes all the other guys in the class. They have a great time when they all get together. (Jay is on the very top left-tan shirt)

Amber visiting from Kansas

Image
On July 6th we had a special visitor arrive.. Amber! She is staying with us for two weeks this summer. She is the daughter of my friends, Troy and Doyse. I met her step-father, Troy, when we were exchange students together in Denmark back in high school. Amber made it just in time to head to the lake with us! She was a big hit with the family, especially with the little kids!!! In fact, my niece Avery wouldn't let Amber put her down! We also made it to the Pavillions car show in Scottsdale, where Amber got to see a lot of cars that she really liked! We had a good time! Troy and Doyse both serve in the Air Force National Guard and are currently serving in Iraq. Doyse is on a 40 day tour and Troy on a 60 day tour. We were excited that they would send Amber to Arizona to spend some time with us. Troy and Doyse, we look forward to your safe return! God bless you both, all the soldiers, and the USA!!!

Roosevelt Lake 2007

Image
During the week of July 9th we headed to Roosevelt Lake for our annual trip with the Richardson side of the family. It was a great time as usual! Again, Jay wasn't able to come because of work, but the rest of us really enjoyed it! There was swimming in the lake, swimming in the pool (when the walk to the lake was too much for mommy), lots of good food (who knew that Janell could fit 8 meatballs in her mouth at once!), movies, and of coarse the annual Bocce Ball tournament. Jacy had so much fun playing with all of her cousins!

Another Trip To The ER

Image
Jacy wasn't her healthiest between the end of May and the end of June. In the 4 week period she had two Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) both requiring a trip to the ER. I knew that Jacy wasn't feeling great, but got really worried when her fever spiked to over 103.5. We are lucky to have a new ER just across the street from us... with almost NO waiting time! They got Jacy right in! This time the Dr. decided not to give Jacy an IV. Instead, she was given a Popsicle-which she was thrilled about! The medicine Jacy needed was given to her in the form of a shot, 1 in each leg. The nurses were great about it. They brought in two nurses who did the shots at exactly the same time, so Jacy only had to feel the needle prick once. She didn't like it, but it was still better than twice! She sure is a trooper! Within the week she was back to her normal self and ready for our last trip of the summer.

Auntie Jennine's Wedding

Image
On June 20 th we headed out to Spokane, WA for a week at Grandma and Grandpa Simmer's house. It was a very special trip because JENNINE GOT MARRIED! On Saturday June 23rd Jennine was married to Tim Robinson. Welcome to the family Tim! The wedding was beautiful. Jennine made a gorgeous bride and Jacy was the cutest flower girl that I have ever seen!!! We had a great time while we were there. Jay worked very hard with Grandpa Jerry painting the house and working on the deck in the backyard. Jacy loved to play in their backyard. They have 3 geese that run up and down the fence line. Jacy thought they were pretty neat! It was a wonderful time getting to catch up with so many extended family and friends. Jacy got to meet several of her cousins for the first time! We even got in a fun canoe ride down the Little Spokane River with Grandma Sally, Grandpa Jerry, Uncle Chris and Aunt Katie and their boys Jacob and Jared. We saw a big moose in the water! We had a really fun time! Jacy ...

Rocky Point Mexico

Image
During the first week in June we headed out to Rocky Point Mexico for our summer vacation with the Campbell Clan. Jay wasn't able to go because of work and we missed Emily and Jeremy too, but the rest of us had so much fun!!! We rented some houses just outside of Rocky Point and had the beach to ourselves! Most of the days were spent playing in the water and walking the beach looking for sea shells. Jacy loved sitting on the beach and being all the way in the water, but didn't like standing at the edge with the waves crashing at her feet. She would try to lift up both her legs when the wave was coming. Grandma Greta made her and Jacy matching outfits too! They made very cute twins! Thanks Campbell Clan for a super fun trip to the beach!
