It's almost time!

Image
This morning we had some lab work done to determine if the baby's lungs were mature enough for him to be delivered tomorrow. We just spoke to the Dr. who told us that our little boy is ready to go! We are so excited, nervous, and even a little scared. We can't wait to meet this little boy in person! This is a 3-D ultra sound picture that was taken this morning. Looks like he has chubby little cheeks. His arm is covering up the left side of his face. Based on the measurements taken in the ultra sound our little guy is estimated to weigh 7 pounds already!!! We are so thankful that this pregnancy has gone smoothly and that I have been able to enjoy the time home with my family and close to friends. What a different experience it has been compared to being pregnant with Jacy. We appreciate all of you "well-wishers" who have called to let us know that you are thinking about us! Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers for a smooth delivery tomorrow. ...

Won't Be Long Now...

The arrival of our baby boy is almost here. Only 2 1/2 weeks to go! We are scheduled for an amniocintesis on Monday Oct.1st. This is a test that will check his lung maturity. If his lungs are developed enough we are scheduled to deliver on Tuesday morning, Oct. 2nd at 10:00am at Banner Desert Hospital. If his lungs are not quite ready we will wait until Friday to deliver him. He has been very active and seems to be very strong! Jacy seems to be understanding a little bit more about what is going to happen. We always talk about having a new baby and how she will be a big sister. Each morning she will come up to my belly and yell, "HI BABY BROTHER!" She likes to also tell people that there is a baby boy in mommy's tummy. We know that she is going to be a wonderful big sister. We are so excited to welcome this little guy into the world!

Arizona Diamondbacks Fan!

Jay was given some tickets by a friend at work, so today we took Jacy to her 1st Major League Baseball game...Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Chicago Cubs! We enjoyed an afternoon of the traditional hot dog dinner at the ballpark! It was a perfect family outing. We really had a good time. It was a very exciting 9th inning, and the Diamondbacks ended up winning 5-4!!!

Not Without His Own Drama

Image
I am not sure why my kids have the need to be dramatic before they even arrive...but they do! Last Monday I was in the hospital all day with contractions and light bleeding. I am only 29 weeks along, trying to reach 36 weeks (Scheduled to deliver on October 2nd). While I was there my friend, Amber, called to check on me. I told her that it was all coming back to me, the only thing missing was the beautiful view of the San Francisco Bay Bridge! She e-mailed me a picture of it... I felt right at home! =) After a series of shots the contractions stopped and I was allowed to return home, on bed rest. I had a follow-up appointment where the monitor showed that my contractions had become even worse and more consistent. I am to continue to lay low and be very aware of how I am feeling. I am trying to say in the reclined position as much as possible, which can be difficult with a 2 year old! Jacy has actually been a very good girl and very big help to me!!! When I am up and about around the ho...

BABY SHOWER

Image
On August 4th my Cousin, Nicole Stapley, hosted a baby shower for me! It was wonderful to get together with friends and family for an afternoon, which was also filled with great food! The whole theme was JOHN DEERE to celebrate my little boy and was complete with an adorable John Deere tractor cake, made by my cousin Darci. My little guy has lots of ADORABLE clothes to wear and toys to play with! There are a couple of things that I think Jacy is going to have a hard time sharing with her brother! Nicole, thank you for a wonderful baby shower and thank you to all my friends and family who helped make it special!!!

Big Girl Bed!

Image
Jacy has moved on to her BIG GIRL BED!!! She helped her daddy convert her crib into a toddler day bed a few days ago. She took a few minutes to play on it and get used to it. She seem pretty excited! Her first night was a little rough. She woke up about 3 times and we caught her wandering around our living room looking for us, with her favorite puppy under one arm and her pink blankie in the other. She takes naps in it great! I walk her to her room, she climbs in and lays down, we blow kisses to each other, She says "nite-nite mommy" and then falls fast asleep! Last night she slept in her bed all night long without waking up!!! It was fun to wake up this morning with her little face right there looking at us with a big smile!

Our Little Climber

Image
Jacy has become quite the climber! She has mastered getting on the couch and kitchen chairs. In fact, we can't seem to keep her off of the furniture! The other day I caught her sitting on top of the end table, which she knows she is not allowed on. I told her that if she didn't climb down I was going to spank her. She got spanked. After she had calmed down a little bit she turned to me and said, "I want Daddy spank you, Mommy!" I couldn't help but to laugh...and then we were friends again. =)
