Minnesota!
We were excited that Jay's cousin Joe was getting married this summer because it gave us a chance to head to Minnesota to spend a week with the Simmer family! The last time we were there we canoed the Boundary Waters, 8 years ago! Too long in between visits! We had a WONDERFUL TIME!
Jim and Andie treated us to a day of boating on the St. Criox river. It was a beautiful day with beautiful scenery! Even the color of the water was beautiful! I looked like a river of RootBeer! We had fun swimming a little with the kids and eating a picnic lunch on one of the beaches. It was so relaxing! We enjoyed a full day of being with family.
Joe and Mindy's wedding was a beautiful outdoor ceremoney and then an inside reception that was SO MUCH FUN! I think that Jacy was on the dance floor the WHOLE time! They sure knew how to throw a party! Mindy seems like a perfect fit for the family. Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Joe Simmer!
We stayed with Uncle Chris and Aunt Katie's family. We couldn't believe how much the boys had grown up. We are glad that we were able to stay with them so that we could enjoy Nerf gun fights, Lego building time, and really bad movies really late at night -that ended up being super funny with the boys commentating!During the week we had a couple of get togethers at Uncle Bob and Aunt Rita's too. We BBQ'd and just hung out and visited with each other. We really enjoyed getting to spend time with Cousin Alec, and had fun watching him play with Jacy and Jake.
Another fun adventure was the Minnesota Zoo and Conservatory!
We got to see Polar Bears and a Giraffe that was only a few days old! The kids had a great time riding on some of the amusement park rides. The conservatory was georgous! There were different rooms for different types of plants, flowers, and herbs. My favorite was the huge room full of flowers and the fish pond!
And we could never forget about our fun filled day at the MALL OF AMERICA! that place is HUGE and has a giant amusement park called Nickelodeon Universe. We had a great time riding on the rides and enjoying the butterfly garden. We were dissappointed that the giant Lego Superstore was closed for renovation, but we will be sure to hit it next time!
We had a WONDERFUL trip! We enjoyed our time with all the Simmer family and can't wait to get together with them again soon!
