Jacy's MRI Update

Image
I am thrilled to share an update on Jacy that is so full of good news! As you know, for the past couple of weeks Jacy has started to drag her left foot a little bit when she walks. We were concerned that her tethered spinal cord was the reason. If the stretch on the spinal cord had worsened, a de-tethering surgery would be necessary. Jacy had an MRI last Monday. As usual, she did awesome! Jacy was fully sedated for the 2 hour scan and recovered from it beautifully! She is always very snuggly afterwards, which is mommy’s favorite part! On Wednesday of last week we were able to meet with her Neurosurgeon, Dr. Manwaring, to discuss the results of the scan. He is so pleased with Jacy and her progress!!! Jacy started gymnastics last week! It is a special class taught by therapist's for children with special needs or disabilities. She was only 1 of 3 kids that showed up for the first class, so she was able to get some one on one time with the therapist's. She had a great time!!! She is so full of energy and life! It was so much fun to watch her run around and explore her capabilities.

We had such a wonderful Christmas weekend, full of family and fun!!! Here are some highlights ... About 2 seconds before we were ready to walk out the door for church on Christmas Eve Jacy walked into the kitchen to show us her first attempt at applying her own lip stick! I would say she did a pretty good job! Not a mark on her Christmas dress or on her fingers... She kept it all on her face! I thought she looked quite beautiful! Christmas morning started around 8:00am when Jacy began to wake up everyone at Grandpa John and Grandma Linda's house. Here we (Jody, Jay, Jacy, Janell, and Jaylen) are waiting for the go ahead to head for the living room to see what Santa brought for us. We all must have been good in 2006 because our stockings were full and presents were waiting. Jacy got a neat toy that has lots of doors that are color coordinated with keys to unlock them. There are also shapes and animals that fit behind each door, and she has to use the keys to get them out. Santa must...
