Sleeping In A Tent

This past weekend was our annual camping trip to the Grapevine Campground near Roosevelt Lake. We go every year with the Richardson side of the family and we meet up with the Baker's and the Seagle's. It is always so much fun and a tradition that we wouldn't ever want to miss! Unfortunately Jay couldn't join us this year because of work, but I decided to rough it in a tent with the kids anyways! It was...an experience! We really did have a good time! Jacy got a new Princess bedroll/air mattress to sleep in. She thought she was pretty cool! Jake and I shared an air mattress with a bedroll and blankets. We were nice and cozy! The nights were cold and the coyotes were howling, but it was worth it! We enjoyed days filled with playing the guitar with Jaylen, playing on a nearby playground, and watching the boys paintball. Evenings were spent sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows, making smores, telling stories, and playing silly games. Me and the kids packed up to come home on Saturday night. As I was rolling up the tent I found a scorpion that was right under the center of our tent... creepy!!! As it got later and later Saturday night we decided to stay one more night and sleep in the trailer with Grandpa John and Grandma Linda. Thanks for letting us crash at your place! It was so great to hang out with everyone. Even Jennifer came down from Utah for the weekend! Can't wait to do it all again next year!
