Jacy turns 3!

March 23rd was especially special for us this year...Jacy turned 3 and it was Easter Sunday! (Easter won't fall on her birthday again for 152 years!) It doesn't seem fair that she is growing up so fast. As I look back over the past year I remember how nervous I was about the "Terrible Two's" well, for us it was the "Terrific Two's" compared to the "Terrifying Three's"! So far the first 4 weeks of Jacy being three have been a much greater challenge than the whole year of Two. =) For Jacy's 3rd birthday we invited her friends over for an afternoon of bouncing in a princess castle bounce house. We had 13 2-3 year olds at once! Jacy had the best time!!! She loved the bounce castle so much that when it got dark we had to bring her inside and shut the curtains so she couldn't see it anymore. She would have jumped on it all night! She cried when the bounce house rental company came to pick it up that night. Just before Jacy's birthday we talked to her about how lucky she is to have so many wonderful toys and reminded her about the time that she was in the hospital and got to play with their toys and also of the sick kids in the hospital who like to play with toys. Rather than receiving gifts she asked her friends to please bring a gift that could be donated to Phoenix Children's Hospital. A few weeks ago I took Jacy to Family Services at Phoenix Children's hospital where she handed over all of the toys...with a smile!!! She was so excited to be doing it. She makes me so proud!!! She has been keeping busy with her dance and gymnastics classes. What an improvement we have seen in her!!! Her balance is improving and she loves to twirl and spin to princess music! She is currently getting ready for her first dance recital, scheduled for June 3rd. She is a mouse from Cinderella, dancing to the song "Cinderelly Cinderelly!" Her favorite movie right now is "Enchanted". She sings the songs from it so much that her friends call her Giselle (the name of the princess in the movie). When the singing parts of the movie are on Jacy makes sure that she is wearing her princess shoes so that she can dance all around the room. Jacy has been fairly healthy these past couple of months. What a blessing! Both her Neurosurgeon and Urologist were so happy with results from different testing that she has done that they don't want to see her again until the beginning of next year! No appointments for a while...Yeah! Jacy makes me proud every Sunday with her excitement and desire to go to church. She LOVES her nursery class. Sometimes she will be the last child to leave and she still cries because she wants to stay for longer! She enjoys singing "I am a child of God" and "Popcorn popping on the apricot tree" and loves to say prayers at dinner or just randomly throughout the day. Jacy loves her family. She loves to hug and kiss on her little brother and has been a wonderful big sister! When Jay is out back working on a truck or car Jacy is right there with him! She loves to be outside with her daddy! Jacy and I enjoy our time right before bed the most. We snuggle on the couch together while watching a movie. She is a very opinionated, stubborn, and independent little girl. Although it can be a challenge, we are so proud of her! She really is an amazing little girl!
