Jacy...my grown up girl
This past month has been an exciting month for Jacy, full of fun milestones that show how much she is growing up.
The most exciting news is that Jacy is (almost) POTTY TRAINED! This is huge for her, considering that we never knew if it would be possible. We have determined
that she doesn't have a lot of sensation or feeling in her bottom and down through the back of her hamstrings. We didn't know if she was going to be able to feel the sensation of needing to go potty or not. We are so excited that SHE CAN! She is really doing a great job and having less and less accidents each day. She is already at the point where she goes all by herself without any help from us. I actually tried to help her the other day and she wouldn't let me. She went running down the hall for the bathroom so I went running after her saying, "Com on..let's hurry!" She stopped dead in her tracks, turned to me with her hand up in the "stop" position and said, "Don't come mom. It's Gross!" She continues to amaze us with all of her many accomplishments and abilities! We are so proud of her!
One night as I was putting Jacy to bed I realized that she was just about the same length as her toddler bed. Hitting the Memorial Day
sale we decided to give her an upgrade... Jacy now sleeps in a regular full size bed! The changing table has been moved out of her room, turning Jacy's room from a nursery into a true big girl room. She even got some special TINKERBELL sheets! When she laid down the first night she said, "I am going to sleep with tinkerbell's eye!" and she curled up on her new pillow and went right to sleep!
We have also started to have her do some chores. She is a big helper by making her bed every morning when she wakes up and picking up all of her toys before she goes to bed every night.
Jacy has also had her very first haircut! It was time to trim up the back of her hair so that her curls looked nice and healthy again. She was so excited to
wear the apron and she stood so still while my friend Angela cut her hair.
Jacy's 2nd visit to the dentist was a success. We are excited that she is still cavity free! She just got a new Beauty and the Beast toothbrush. It is an electric toothbrush with princess Belle on it. Sometimes it is a fight to get her to STOP brushing her teeth, rather than to brush them!
Her vocabulary is really growing and she is started to use words like actually and frustrated. It is very cute to hear such a little girl using such grown up words! Jacy is (usually) a very sweet girl! She does have a bit of an ornery streak, but she is a wonderful big sister and is always showing her family how much she loves them. We couldn't be more proud of her!
