Jake at 9 months

Jake is growing up so fast it is hard to believe. On July 2nd he turned 9 months old... really, where has the time gone! He is such a good baby and most of the time is very happy! He is so handsome with his red hair and blue eyes. He is starting to change so much and we are enjoying watching him make new discoveries and accomplish his milestones!

During the end of May and the first week in June he finally got some chompers, his two front bottom teeth. He has quickly learned how to use them and now he loves a graham cracker every now and then. He is a great eater and hasn't refused anything we have offered him so far! He especially loves it when Jacy sneaks him food that he really should be eating yet! The other day she tried to give him a piece of gum, because really, who doesn't like a good piece of gum! He is lucky to have a sister that loves to share. =)

Jake is really finding his voice and becoming quite the chatter box. He loves to chatter and babble and, even though maybe not intentional, I have heard mama, dada, and even a Grandpa! He also loves to play with his tongue. He is constantly sticking it out and has recently started to blow bubbles with his spit. Nice, I know!

He all of the sudden has started to become very mobile. He isn't that great at a regular crawl, but has a mean army crawl down! He also rolls from one side of the room to the other and back again and just thinks that it is the most fun thing ever. This past weekend he started to sit up by himself from the laying down position and just yesterday I watched him pull himself up to the standing position and "couch cruise" from one couch to the other! I think that he will be walking before we know it!
He also found his own shadow on the wall. It was so funny to watch him try to grab the shadow! I tried to take a picture, but the flash made the shadow dissapear, so it just looks like a picture of Jake laying next to the wall...not too exciting.

He is a very sweet boy! We are very blessed to have him in our family. He has brought a new element of joy and excitement into our home and we love him very much!
