Little Rough and Tumble's Broken Foot

Well... it didn't take long for Jake's 2nd broken bone! This morning he was sitting at the table eating breakfast with his Grandpa Jerry. He was sitting on his knees and doing fine, but then decided to stand up. As he stood up on his toes the chair feel backwards and he feet got caught in the space between the seat and the back of the chair. The back of the chair seat came down right on top of both of his feet. The bone on the top of his left foot got cracked. At first we thought that it was just a little sore, but quickly noticed that he couldn't put any pressure on it at all. He would just sit, stand, or lay where ever he was and hold his left foot in the air. After Urgent Care X-Rays he was put into a 1/2 cast splint. It was the hard splint that formed to his foot and leg and then secured with an ace bandage. For the rest of the day he only crawled around lugging that heavy thing behind him. He is quiet, quick, and very brave.. he loves to climb and run and jump... I am sure that this won't be the last of broken bones in his lifetime. The pictures are a reenactment of his accident, to remind of us how it happened. Be careful on those chairs kids!!!

  1. That stinks for your tough little man. How are you holding up with it all. After all the sickness now this. I was going to say that guy just can't catch a break but that's probably not the best term. You know what I mean anyway.
