Introducing... JAVA!
So, here's a funny story...Jay has been wanting a Bassett Hound. I am not sure why, but that is the breed that he wants. Well, our friend called and said, "They are selling Bassett Hound puppies on the side of Hunt Highway out in Queen Creek". Without blinking an eye Jay yelled, "Load up kids, we are going to look at a dog!" and off they went. As the story goes, while Jay was admiring the Basset Hound puppies
Jacy was holding *and falling in love with* the Chihuahua in the next truck over. They actually came home empty handed but Jacy cried over *her* dog all afternoon. We even tried to show her pictures of different breeds all afternoon, because we NEVER thought we would own a yappy, ankle biter Chihuahua! For Jacy, it wasn't just ANY Chihuahua... it was a special one that she had seen that day. We called the people that evening and wouldn't you know they we nice enough to bring it to us! So... WELCOME TO THE FAMILY JAVA!
He is a very cute puppy... only weighs about 4lbs. The kids LOVE him! They carry him everywhere. He loves to play and also snuggle. He is Jacy's dog, so his crate is in her room and he gets to sleep in there at night. She does a great job of playing, feeding, and walking him, but when he has little accidents in the house I get, "Um, why don't you take care of that MOM?!" Jake really loves him too, although I don't think the feelings are mutual.
Jake is a bit rough and likes to grab on to whatever he can and squeeze. We are working on "gentle" and "soft" with him, and I am sure that before long they will also be great friends. The first day we had him, Jake tried to snuggle him in his dog crate! Jacy loves to carry him around over her should like a baby. Luckily she hasn't tried to dress him in doll clothes yet! He really is a sweet puppy to put up with our family!
Everyone says they are yappy dogs, but we have a little tea cup one that i bought for kaitlynn right before I left for San Francisco and she is a doll. She only weighs 3 pounds, soaking wet and loves everyone. Never has she tried to bite or growl at anyone. Welcome to the family JAVA. I guess it had to have a "J" name
